We hosted three camps our first summer with unique themes, crafts, and mindfulness opportunities. Kids screen printed and tie dyed their camp shirts, created clay creatures, and experimented with yoga, karate, and mindfulness. It was so much fun! We sold out all three camps and with that as a foundation, I felt ready to offer after-school programs that fall. Thankful Thursdays became our first on-going program where kids worked on projects through a lens of gratitude. Next came our mini-series and Saturday Club Days. At the time, I was still teaching full time and unexpectedly became a primary care giver for two family members who were battling life threatening illnesses. With a wedding to plan and very full plate, Birdie’s took a break for the winter season. During this time, ideas evolved and seeds were chosen to plant this spring.
